Council Grove, KS (July 16, 2018) On July 24, 2018, Rex Materials of Kansas, along with its Kansas employees, their families, members of the Council Grove community and representatives of the Kansas government, will be celebrating 40 years in Council Grove with an employee appreciation luncheon.

Rex Materials of Kansas, formerly Custom Manufacturing, Inc., opened its doors in Council Grove in 1978 with six employees. Today, Rex Materials of Kansas has 93 employees in a 75,000 square foot facility who manufactures over 10,000 products and help business clients solve their heat containment challenges. Thanks to the creativity and innovative ideas of its employees, Rex Materials is recognized as an international leader in the high-temperature refractory industry.

"We cant recognize our success without recognizing the support of the community and the wonderful people who work in our plant daily. Our employees are challenged every day to find new and better applications for our products, and it is thanks to the challenges they have met that we are growing and continue to grow. says Rex Materials President David Rex, who took over as President in 1990 after his father, co-founder John Rex, retired.

Looking ahead, Rex Materials of Kansas is working on a new product for the semi-conductor and solar cells industry, including a newly-redesigned heater created and manufactured by Council Grove team members. With distribution including Malaysia and the Philippines, the team at Rex Materials is excited to continue sharing with both local and international communities the processes, technologies and people that make RMG a unique organization.
